Hinsdale Township High School District 86 evaluates their teachers' effectiveness on a regular basis. Part of that process involves measuring student performance and growth via Student Learning Objectives (SLO). Historically, however, the district's technology staff had gathered and analyzed this data manually, a time-consuming and potentially error-prone process. The district sought a more efficient way to assess their SLOs.
In 2019, the district began using 5Lab to quickly analyze both the target and actual end scores earned by teachers, so that they could visualize how many staff members had or had not met their student growth targets for the school year. The district then used those insights to identify specific staff in need of professional development and/or retention evaluation.
