School Boards Association Joins Analytics Partnership Serving Texas Schools
NAPERVILLE, IL. (September 8, 2015) — The Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) and Forecast5 Analytics recently agreed to support the expanded use of data analytics and related business applications for Texas school districts. TASB is the 25th statewide association from 11 different states to have joined the Forecast5 Corporate Partner Program.
Forecast5 launched its business intelligence platform for Texas in March 2015 in partnership with the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO) and recently with Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA). With TASB joining the statewide partnership, these organizations represent solid support for providing powerful new tools for data discovery, decision support, and enhanced communication methods with district stakeholders.
James B. Crow, Executive Director of TASB, commented on the new initiative: “The value of usable data cannot be overstated during these times of tight budgets and higher accountability standards. School trustees and leaders need powerful data analytics and benchmarking capabilities to identify strategies for academic success and financial efficiency.”
Forecast5 has released the following applications in Texas. All of the applications will be featured at the TASA/TASB Convention in Austin, October 2-4, 2015:
- 5Sight – an analytic tool that leverages Texas-specific data (statewide PEIMS submissions and other data sets), allowing school administrators to generate insights related to performance data and make comparisons with benchmark peer groups across the state
- 5Cast – a budget preparation and forecasting tool that incorporates “what-if” simulations to facilitate multi-year financial planning
- 5Maps – a geospatial analytic tool that integrates user-specific data overlaid on a Google Map to gain numerous insights on projects including enrollment projections, boundary simulations, program/service delivery analysis, and academic assessment
Forecast5 CEO/President Mike English commented on the new partnership with TASB. “At Forecast5, we appreciate and respect the efforts of school trustees and their desire to use data and information in their decision making processes. We are honored to have the opportunity to partner with TASB in an effort to maximize the potential benefits of analytics for Texas schools.”
