PASBO Partners with Forecast5 Analytics to Help Schools
NAPERVILLE, Ill. (August 25, 2015) — The Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO) has partnered with Forecast5 Analytics to introduce a suite of software products that can help schools in Pennsylvania analyze and compare expenditures, student performance, long-term budget projections and other important instructional and finance metrics. The Forecast5 products allow benchmarking of data on a local, regional and statewide basis.
Through the new partnership, Pennsylvania schools will have access to several tools that will help school administrators make informed resource and budgetary decisions. Forecast5 has assembled data reported annually to the PA Department of Education and its 5Sight application will allow users to easily generate insights based on relevant performance benchmarks and peer groupings. Pennsylvania schools using Forecast5 software will be able to review historical trend data and compare performance metrics across instructional and non-instructional categories.
“We are very pleased to join with Forecast5 in providing new tools for PASBO members to show their taxpayers, parents, students, school board members and staff that educational resources are being maximized to achieve student success,” said Jay Himes, PASBO executive director. “The focus on reducing the cost of programs and personnel during the last five years creates a need for new tools that will allow school leaders to analyze the effects on school finances and student achievement.”
Forecast5 is also partnering with state wide education associations in Illinois, Ohio, New York, Texas, California, Wisconsin, Virginia, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri and Arizona. Pennsylvania schools will also have access to the data from other states for comparative purposes.
The new partnership also extends access to additional technology within Forecast5’s suite of products. With integration to the business intelligence software, schools will be able to collaborate through 5Share, Forecast5’s online professional networking platform. Additionally, Pennsylvania schools will have access to powerful geo-spatial analytics using 5Maps, as well as, budgeting and forecasting analytics through 5Cast.
Mike English, President and CEO of Forecast5, commented, “PASBO is respected for its great history of leadership in the area of school finance on both a state and national level. We are very excited to be able to work with the association and believe that it will result in some exciting innovations that will benefit students in Pennsylvania, and more broadly, the national education system.”
The new partners are working to launch the Pennsylvania version of 5Sight in mid-September of this year. The 5Maps and 5Cast applications are available immediately. For more information on how your school can subscribe to one or all of the Forecast5 products, contact PASBO at (717) 540-9551 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
