Employee Spotlight - Jason Schoenleber

Meet Jason Schoenleber, Rock N' Roll guru and 5Lab Product Manager.

Jason Schoenleber

What is your name and current position?
Jason Schoenleber, Product Manager – 5Lab

How long have you been employed at Forecast5?
I’ve just started my 5th year with Forecast5

What office are you based out of?
Naperville, IL

Why did you join Forecast5?
After initially learning about Forecast5, I realized that it was not only an exciting place to work and doing something great, but that it was growing fast. There are very few times you get to be a part of something special like what Forecast5 is doing, and I didn’t want to pass that up!

What is the most interesting or favorite part of your job?

Since starting at Forecast5, I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside district administrators in 14 states. Each State and District has a unique set of challenges that they face, and my favorite part of the work I do is getting a chance to help support the efforts to overcome these challenges. It’s great to know that the work we are doing for these districts allows them to focus more on addressing and making decisions that impact their students. I’m also a little bit of a data nerd, so problem-solving new ways to analyze data also fascinates me.

What are some cool projects you’ve seen our clients do with F5 products?
There really are too many to choose from. There is one client that builds out a financial diligence report every year that shows historical trends, which is a precursor to their financial projection report. Another client uses one to two visuals from 5Sight at each monthly board meeting to highlight data relevant to the discussion topics and engage their board more. However, one of the most powerful examples is a district that utilized their transportation subsidy data to find and recapture over a $1,000,000 in subsidy claims.

What is your favorite movie/book/music?
Movie – Anything Akira Kurosawa or Christopher Nolan

Book –  I’m an incessant reader, so this is tough, but it would have to be either “The Hobbit” by JRR Tolkien or “To Have and Have Not” by Earnest Hemmingway.
Music – I’ll listen to pretty much anything but Rock N’ Roll has my heart, especially classic rock like The Stones or southern rock like CCR.

Tell us one interesting fact about yourself?
My wife and I welcomed our first child this past year, Jayson our son, and couldn’t be happier!
